Mission The key person will be integrated into the System Design, LEOP and Commissioning team of the MTG System team. The general task of the key person will be to provide support to the procurement and handling of the Operations Satellite Simulator SATSIM which is a realtime behavioural model of the space segment and of the space to ground interface and, more generally for system design tasks including LEOP and commissioning. In particular the tasks will include Strong involvement in the procurement of SATSIM directly reporting to the LEOP and Commissioning Manager analyses of documentation, assessment of design versus needs requirements, tracking of actions, proposing way forward to solve technical issues, maintainability by EUMETSAT over the lifetime of the programme, progress working meetings... liaise with the MTG MOF engineer in charge of SATSIM aspects in the EUMETSAT ground segment Participation in the Operations Preparation group as the SATSIM expert and system design expert Technical assistance to other teams for topics related to the satellite simulator Support the design of the system, in particular for the satellite related aspects and Satellite Analysis Reporting functionalities. Support the preparationreview of programme technical documentation e.g. requirements, plans, user manuals, system documentation, technical notes, space segment data package, ground segment data package, satellite Flight Operation Manuals, validation reports.... Preparation and provision of training in particular with respect to the satellite simulator. Support the system verification and validation before launch and commissioning. Support the reporting, analysis and investigation of anomalies particularly those relating to the satellite simulator. Attendance at technical meetings and reviews. Liaise, as necessary for above tasks, with the Operation and TSS Departments to ensure that the operational including maintenance needs are properly documented and with the Ground Segment team to ensure that they are taken into account in the design. Profile In addition to having a University degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline, knowledge and experience of the following is essential Satellite Operations Simulator including its verification and validation The Reference Architecture REFA for simulators as well as the SIMULUS environment Satellite Monitoring and Control functions associated with a geostationary satellite Geostationary spacecraft operations in general Satellite Operations training and simulation campaign using a simulator in view of ground segment operational validation Knowledge of the ECSS standards related to TMTC including PUS, the SLE protocol as well as those relevant for the procurement of the simulator. Furthermore, it would be a distinct advantage for the Key person to have experience with some of the following Knowledge of the MSGMTG satellites and associated system operations Knowledge of SCOS, Knowledge of the typical Ground Segment and Operations associated with an imaging satellite Fluency in English oral and written is mandatory.
