Network support during EPSSG ground segment development MW

Mission Carrying out activities covering the networking aspects in the ground segments associated with EPSSG will include performing the following tasks, which will initially focus on the needs of the EPSSG Preparatory Programme but nominally cover the entire development lifecycle Specification of an EPSSG ground segment network concept incl. purposescope definition, high level network system architecture and design, highlevel network testing and rollout strategy. Specification of EPSSG ground segment network requirements. Requirements identification, analysis, validation and maintenance e.g. extraction of required data flows and specification of their characteristics. Assist to the definition of EPSSG ground segment network interfaces. From the EPSSG ground segment network requirements, specification of derived requirements for the evolution and upgrade of operations network infrastructure and services. Establishing the overall EPSSG ground segment network solution, incl. specification of the network integration, verification and testing approach. Identification of areas of risk and contribution to related tradeoff studies or prototyping activities. Participate in and provide support the EPSSG ground segment reviews, e.g. Requirements Review and Preliminary Design Review. Participate in evaluation and comparison of offers for network services and systems, contribute to supplier negotiations. Contribute to procurement of the overall EPSSG ground segment in areas related to networking, e.g. requirements specifications and statements of work. Participate in EPSSG meetings at system, ground segment and facility level. Profile In addition to having a university degree or equivalent, the key person shall have at least 5 years of proven knowledge and handson experience in the following mandatory skills area Preparation of network system requirements and design specifications. Understanding of the use cases and needs on networking imposed by satellite ground segment environments, experience of translating these to requirements on network infrastructure, functions and systems. Satellite ground segment network solution engineering throughout its lifecycle, from identification of needs to deployment, with a focus on Cisco technology and solutions. Working in and applying the above skills in highavailability, alwayson production environments, driven by high availability requirements. Interacting with suppliers of network products and services. Supporting procurements of network services. For supporting documentation tasks, experience is required with Microsoft Office Suite, including MSVisio. In carrying out the various tasks above, under consideration of the working environment the key person shall be able to apply the following skills and capabilities To work with a high degree of autonomy, taking ownership of problems, and applying good analytical skills down to the root cause level. To work in teams, willing to share experience and provide cross support to other team members. To communicateinteract adequately with a variety of people at different levels customers, suppliers, peers, leaders in a multinational environment. To understand and anticipate customers needs with flexibility to adapt approach and solutions to meet customer requirements. To conduct all activities in an orderly and disciplined manner, working calmly and correctly under pressure. Fluency in English oral and written is mandatory. Verification Support Tool DOORS Development Support 1413004 Job Description The general objective of the service is the prototyping and development of the Verification DOORS Data Base and associated tools in the frame of the Meteosat Third Generation MTG Programme Verification and Validation activities. These developments must build on the existing MTG DOORS Requirements Data Base assets, thus a familiarisation phase is also necessary in the beginning of the service. The detailed activities will be defined and agreed ondemand through dedicated Work Packages providing the identification of activities to be performed and the deliverables expected including related DOORS, DXL and potential software developments and scripts, technical documentation including design, test reports, procedures, and adhoc presentations to users. The work will be performed for the GEO Division in charge of the MTG Programme development. In this context the Key persons will report directly to the System Verification and Validation Team Leader of the MTG Team. The work will involve interactions with the MTG IVV teams who will use the tool and especially with the users supporting the prototyping activities. It will also require important technical interfaces with the Technical and Scientific Support Department TSS in charge of the existing DOORS requirements data base assets and with the Information and Communication Technology division in charge of the daily maintenance and administration of DOORS. Typical tasks planned to be performed in the frame of this service would include the following activities. The tasks described below are not contractually binding tasks but an illustration of activities expected to be performed in the frame of this service support contract Familiarisation with MTG DOORS requirements database implementation and tools, and with MTG IVV Test Plans and VCDs Familiarizations with MTG IVV plans and anticipated testing and verification processes Familiarization with EUMETSAT corporate CM, DM, Anomaly processes and tools Familiarisation and critical analysis of verification support tool requirements, highlevel design and preliminary VCD prototyping Establishment of detailed staggered prototyping and development plan Development, installation of prototypes and final versions. Prototypes presentation to users and necessary demonstrations. Support to users utilisation. Organisation and collection of user feedbacks, analysis and proposals for corrections andor alternative implementations. Design, development, installation and integration of final versions, including tests management module, verification consolidation modules, statistics generation, integration of external data bases, development of interfaces with other MTG tools and EUMETSAT corporate tools. Trade off analysis on specific functions implementation Export and import with external contractors database Preparation of relevant documentation in the area of, but not limited to documentation of design, user manuals, working practises. Ondemand statistics and reports on testing and verification status User training. User support in the prototype and rollout phases.
