Oppo enters Swisscom 5G partnership with Reno 5G smartphone

(Telecompaper) Oppo introduced its 5G Landing Project at the 5G commercial launch event in Zurich, as one of the global partners of Swisscom for 5G rollout. Oppo's initiative was announced at this year's MWC and aims to drive collaboration with global operator partners and promote the implementation of 5G products and services, enable new use cases for consumers and connect new industries. Oppo also unveiled its first 5G smartphone, the Oppo Reno 5G, on stage.

Swisscom posts stable revenue in 2018, sees fall in 2019

(Telecompaper) Swisscom's net revenues in 2018 amounted to CHF 11.71 billion, a slight increase of 0.4 percent year-on-year and better than its outlook for flat revenues. Annual EBITDA fell 1.9 percent to CHF 4.21 billion, in line with guidance, and the EBITDA margin was down from 36.8 percent in 2017 to 36.0 percent in 2018. For 2019, Swisscom expects net revenue to drop to around CHF 11.4 billion, EBITDA to improve to over CHF 4.3 billion and capital expenditure of around CHF 2.3 billion.

Swisscom Q3 results slightly lower, maintains FY outlook

(Telecompaper) Swisscom's results were broadly in line with expectations for the first nine months of 2018. In Q3, the group's net revenue decreased by 1 percent to CHF 2.88 billion, and EBITDA fell by 0.5 percent to CHF 1.09 billion. Net income in Q3 was down by 0.9 percent to CHF 426 million. The financial outlook for the 2018 fiscal year remains unchanged. Swisscom still expects to generate stable net revenue of approximately CHF 11.6 billion, slightly lower EBITDA of about CHF 4.2 billion and capital expenditure of less than CHF 2.4 billion in 2018.
