EPSSG System Planning Support 191051 Job Description We are looking for an experienced System Planning Engineer for our customer EUMETSAT. The selected engineer will be working in the new EUMETSAT Polar System Second Generation programme EPSSG. This support role focus on the definition and maintenance of the development logic, schedule and subsystems interactions. The EPSSG system covers the space segment satellite and instruments, ground segment, satellite application facilities, launcher service and LEOP service, as well as the corresponding operations preparation activities. The main tasks are to be performed during phases B and C and include Maintain the system development logic and schedule in coordination with all partners and subsystems until handover to operations Identify all interactions between subsystems and partners, and associate them with main system development milestones and the program work breakdown structure Prepare and maintain Interactions Documents for partners, defining all interactions between subsystems, together with their need dates. Interactions will cover deliverables hardware, software, documentation, test data and tools, support and access. Analysis and implementation of mechanisms or tools allowing the automatic or semiautomatic verification testing of the application software. o Coordination of the production of new software releases or patches, delivery acceptance and installation onsite. This activity includes the technical coordination of the production by an external contractor of new releases or patches of the application software, liaison with the EUMETSAT operational users, participation in technical reviews, participation in factory at contractor premises acceptance testing campaigns and coordination of the installation of the releases or patches onsite at EUMETSAT. o Execution and coordination of software verification and nonregression testing campaigns. Skills The key person shall demonstrate significant knowledge and experience in the area of specification, design, implementation, verification and maintenance of Mission Planning Systems. The key person shall have skills and experience in the following mandatory areas 1. Domain Skills Experience minimum 5 years in the definition of software requirements, architectural design, implementation and maintenance of Mission Planning Systems in the context of Low Earth Orbit LEO space missions. 2. Software Development, Verification Maintenance Skills Experience minimum 5 years in the full cycle of development and maintenance of application software, preferably for Mission Planning Systems, following formal software engineering processes.
