In recognition of extraordinary contributions to IPC and electronics industry, Gary Ferrari, director of technical support at FTG Circuits, and Nilesh Naik, president of Eagle Circuits, were honored with IPC Raymond E. Pritchard Hall of Fame Award. Presention took place at IPC APEX EXPO® in San Diego Convention Center, and IPC president and CEO John Mitchell said that "IPC is privileged to have Gary and Nilesh as active members of so many committees and events."

AMCA is seeking volunteers to form document-creation committee to author new AMCA standard that will introduce Fan Efficiency Ratio. FER metric is a ratio of the actual fan efficiency to baseline fan efficiency, both calculated at given airflow and pressure point. Standard will introduce FER as energy efficiency metric for fans designed to encourage responsible use and drive significant and quantifiable energy savings through codes, rebate programs, and federal regulations.

Eugene Jacques Bullard was the first African American military pilot and flew for France during World War I. One in an occasional series about the people and events that may not have made the textbooks or may have been lost to history. On Feb. 15, 1915, a young machine gunner serving with the French Foreign Legion on the western front was mortally wounded by German shellfire.
