VicePresident, Governmental Satellite Communications LuxGovSat Ref LGS002 Region Europe Location Luxembourg Betzdorf Company LuxGovSat SA Category Sales Position Senior Management Published 20151218 Context LuxGovSat is a pioneer and innovator in governemental, civil security and defence satellite communications GOVSATCOM, jointly held by the global satellite operator SES, headquartered in Luxembourg, and the Luxembourg Government. The objectives of LuxGovSat are the acquisition, the launch and the operation of a satellite for the provision of governmental and defence communication services. The new satellite, GovSat1, will bring new capacity in governmental frequency bands and feature security capabilities with steerable highpowered spot beams. In a unique PublicPrivate Venture, it will ensure the security, reliability and flexibility for the everchanging missions of governments and institutions in the security, defence and civil areas. The launch of the satellite is scheduled for the second quarter of 2017. The spacecraft will be positioned at the orbital position 21.5 degrees East and will cover Europe, the Middle East and Africa. GovSat1 will help Luxembourg to meet its obligations in European and NATO defence and will address the requirements of other governments and institutions, in particular the EU and NATO member states and agencies, as well as the UN. The VicePresident, Governmental Satellite Communications is directly responsible to the CEO of LuxGovSat S.A. HeShe is expert in contracting Satellite Communications SATCOM services and solutions to governmental and institutional users and plays a key role in positioning LuxGovSat as a leading player in the GOVSATCOM valuechain. The VicePresident is responsible to achieve and develop the planned revenues by establishing and developing customer accounts and business. This position will direct the go to market plan and be in charge of the lead to order process. The position will also be responsible for a Senior Manager, Governmental Satellite Communications. Responsibilities Direct all LuxGovSat commercial activities and ensure responsibility for the LuxGovSat revenue budget Endtoend responsibility for identifying and developing customer opportunities, writing competitive proposals and winning new contracts Establish, prioritize and manage direct and indirect sales channels Lead crosscompany efforts with the SES Government Market Solution Center, SES Government Solutions and SES Techcom Services to service and support customer requirements in satellite capacity and valueadd services Lead efforts to leverage the Luxembourg Space cluster with its organisations and competences and develop a catalogue of valueadd offerings and services bundled with LuxGovSat satellite capacities Lead crossorganisational, national and international bid teams Analytically research and understand market and customer trends Establish, develop and communicate LuxGovSat with its value drivers as leading offerings in the new GOVSATCOM segment Provide strategic planning and analytical inputs for the LuxGovSat strategic growth plan Represent the company at special events, conferences, exhibitions and shows ExperiencesQualifications A Master Degree in Business Administration, Management, Engineering, or a related field is desired Minimum 15 years professional experience, preferably with five or more years in satellite related fields, and highly knowledgeable in the functioning of governmental and institutional organisations Proven ability to understand global government customers to identify their requirements and buyin process, to design new LuxGovSat products offerings accordingly Understanding of governmental budget cycles and procurement techniques and associated RFPs and Tenders Good understanding of advanced satellite technology and ground networks Excellent critical thinking, structured written, verbal communication and presentation skills Strong analytical, problem solving and negotiation skills Knowledge of governmental lobbying and strategic advisory methods with good contacts into various Governments Ability to present complex projects to Ministers and other Government officials Ability to lead complex and multifaceted projects in finance, legal and technical aspects Diplomatic manner High level of personal integrity, and adhere to a strict code of conduct and personal behavior. Fluency in English.
