We have a vacancy for a person wishing to join the Avionics and Embedded Systems Team Electronics Engineer for Flight Systems Development MF EESYSAES201708HQ001 The successful candidate will be based in Brussels area, with occasional shortduration travel mainly to the Netherlands. Tasks and Responsibilities The candidate who will join the Systems Department will perform the following tasks Review, assessment and challenging of specific applicable requirements Definition of electronic electrical system architecture, preliminary design and detailed design Technical specification of custom electronics development and customisations Selection of CommercialOffThe Shelf COTS and HiRel electronics boards Flight qualification of COTS electronics boards Tehcnical management of electronics boards development by suppliers Manufacturing, assembly and testing of electronic interfaces and harnesses Assesment of radiation impact on the system Preparation of electrical analysis reports and EMC analysisassessment System reliability, availability, maintainability, and safty assesment Preparation of test procedures and test reports Verification of requirements in Verification Control Document VCD Electronic design, component selection, schematics, electrical simulations, PCB layout design. Qualifications and Experience A Masters or Bachelors degree in an electronics discipline Experience with flight system and payload development Experience with electronics boards manufacturing and assembly Experience with power electronics and control electronics development Experience with flight qualification, verification and testing Experience with ECSS processes for electronics development and verification Experience with rugged and embedded computer systems Experience with payloads for the International Space Station ISS is desirable Expereience with Cubesat electronic design and COTS components is desirable Experience with high speed digital circuit design. In this position, you will be leading the electronic development within the framework of space instruments for the International Space Station or space equipment for various missions. This includes Translating challenging equipment level requirements into multiple board level requirements Performing the equipment conceptual design Technical steering of multidisciplinary design team internalexternal to work according to specification, planning and cost Reviewing the board level electronic circuits keeping in mind the requirements Refinement of equipment level design Maintaining an overview over the overall equipment design Defending equipment level electronic design and tradeoffs to the customer Preparing the equipment level test procedure Supporting the equipment level validation We expect you to have a master degree in electronics with at least 5 years of relevant experience in a similar conceptual and technical environment. Experience with defining an electronic concept without the need to know all the details for electronic equipments is an obvious asset as well as maintaining the helicopter view on the complete unit. A good and practical knowledge of the development flow and the interaction with the other disciplines is a strong advantage. Profound knowledge about software and FPGA development is a plus. Electronics Design Engineer

In this position, you will be part of our growing expert electronic design team developing electronic units for space instruments for the International Space Station or for space equipment for various missions. This includes Translating challenging board level requirements into an electronic circuit Performing the necessary simulations to prove the correctness of the electronic circuit Interact with thermal, structural and reliability engineers Documentation of the electronic circuit and its accompanying analysis Followup and review of PCB layout Preparing the board level test procedure Performing detailed design verification Supporting the system level validation Performing equipment level design feasibility studies We expect you to have a master degree in electronics with at least 3 years of relevant experience in a similar technical environment. Experience with detailed electronic design including analog, digital, power, highspeed for safetycritical or radhard applications is an obvious asset. A good and practical knowledge of layout, production and testing techniques is a strong advantage. Previous handson experience with electronic design verification and validation is a plus. Summary An opportunity for an experienced Electronics Engineer to work for Telespazio VEGA onsite at ESTEC. Objective Engineering and Scientific Support to the Future Missions Office and Prodex supporting Payload Technology Validation Activities. Responsibilities Duties Duties will include but will not be limited to Design of analogue and digital electronics in support of various payload instrument validation activities with a particular emphasis on detector readout electronics Manufacturing and test of electronic circuits Supporting electronic system, components and electrooptical sensor characterisations in the sections laboratories Development of firmware and instrument control and readout software Supporting the development and maintenance of the technical infrastructure needed to validate payload technologies Generally supporting office activities contributing to the elaboration and implementation of the Science Programme technology development plans Evaluation of proposals in response to calls for missions, participation in reviews, payload expertise in support of system studies Qualifications Experience Academic qualification in electronics engineering Minumum of 4 years of handson project or industrial experience in the design, engineering, performance analysis and testing of electronic circuits, preferably in the space domain In particular, expertise in lownoise analogue, highspeed digital techniques and mixedsignal circuits is mandatory Handson experience with such electronic designs and relevant CAD and simulation tools is required Good knowledge of sensor technologies covering wavelengths ranging from IR to gammarays, electrooptical characterisation, cryogenics, and or the design considerations for spacebased payloads would be an asset.
