TalkTalk reaches half million TV customers

(Telecompaper) UK telecoms company TalkTalk has signed up 500,000 customers for its YouView pay-TV service. The company announced the 500,000th customer on its Twitter feed. TalkTalk TV was launched at end-September 2012, offering a free YouView set-top box worth GBP 299. The company claims that 75 percent of its TV customers are upgrading from Freeview or Freesat. It last reported 390,000 TV customers at the end of June.
