Ebola symptoms usually strike within three weeks of infection. Officials on Tuesday said the employee at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention hasn't shown any symptoms since the incident Dec. 22. Officials feared the technician may have been accidentally exposed when a small amount of live Ebola virus was moved into a CDC lab in Atlanta.

Records show DuPont workers exposed to chemical for years

Records show that employees at a Houston-area pesticide plant where a poisonous gas killed four workers in November were exposed to dangerous fumes for years. The Houston Chronicle obtained reports with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality about the La Porte plant owned by chemical manufacturer DuPont.

US nurse exposed to Ebola released from DC hospital

" The National Institutes of Health says an American nurse who was exposed to the Ebola virus while volunteering in Sierra Leone has been released from the hospital. The facility said in an email Friday that the patient has no clinical or laboratory evidence of Ebola infection.

Companies exposed public to asbestos fibers, DEQ says

The Oregon Department of Environmental Quality issued two fines after a contractor hired an unlicensed asbestos abatement company for a Southeast Portland home project. DEQ, which concluded the project likely caused the release of asbestos fibers into the air, fined Classic Image Homes $9,529 for allowing VIP Construction to perform asbestos abatement at a home on 3431 S.E. Rex St. VIP, an unlicensed subcontractor, was fined $11,200 for doing the project without a license from DEQ.
