Yarn prices have remained mostly stable in the last week in India, with a few offers being lowered, however. The fall in yarn prices has been limited by a drop in operating rates in the last months, as margins were negatively affected by the pandemic. Our weekly review of Indian yarn prices covers the domestic and export markets, including carded and combed cotton, poly-cotton, poly-viscose, 100% polyester, and 100% viscose. Major yarn production centers are covered with Tirupur (Tamil Nadu), Bhiwandi (Maharashtra) and Ludhiana (Punjab). Operating rates and profits have stayed at significant levels in the past months, whatever the negative impact of the pandemic.
