Polyester fiber prices have suddenly surged in the past days in China, after the market returned back from holidays. The rally is driven by a recovery in demand amid lower inventory levels at yarn and fabric plants. Our weekly report covers the Polyester Staple Fibers (PSF) and the Polyester Filament Yarns (POY, DTY, FDY) in China, India, and Pakistan. Spun yarn prices have risen across the board in the past week in India, where cotton fiber prices have climbed further. Yarn production and exports are expected to rebound in the new season.
