We are looking for a Project Manager to support its participation in the evolving market for European Air Traffic Management ATM support services. The first project will start in early 2016. The project covers the development of the service infrastructure systems, rollout of the service and the subsequent operations phase. In addition to general project management experience, the project manager requires experience in ATM Systems and Operations. Key objectives of this position are Performing the project in line with the Telespazio VEGA Programme and Project Management Processes with respect to Financial control Cost schedule planning and tracking Risk opportunity management Supply chain consortiums partner management Quality management Commercial management This is a great opportunity for an experienced Project Manager in the ATM domain. You will receive a permanent contract and will be based in Darmstadt, Germany. RESPONSIBILITIESDUTIES Execution of the project within project schedule and budget and to the satisfaction of the customer Planning and management of all resources of the project Management of consortium partners Management of the risks Management of conflicts that occur within the project Ensuring appropriate quality management through continues monitoring and evaluation Support of regular project reviews and audits Procurement of COTS HW and SW Ensuring the project is conducted in line with the applicable processes on the customer side as well as on the company side QUALIFICATIONSEXPERIENCE A degree in computer science, physics, mathematics, or equivalent General project management experience in leading large development projects 5 Mio with multiple and multicultural subcontractorspartners located at different sites ESSENTIAL SKILLS Experience in the ATM domain technically and politically Ability to plan and execute a project effectively coordinating economic, technological and human resources within project budget and schedule Ability to lead a larger development project team or several small workgroups Ability to effectively communicate with all stakeholders of a larger project at different levels of an organization Ability to understand and interpret contract terms and conditions with commercial sensitivity and to negotiate opportune contract amendments Ability to ensure a high quality standard of the project output by appropriate attention to a quality management system Reporting, monitoring and evaluation of the financial status of the project Knowledge of system engineering standards, a good understanding of the software development life cycle, i.e. Vmodel Understanding of the risks in software application development andor service projects and management of such risks Good command of the English language DESIRABLE SKILLS Good command of the German andor French language Understanding Security requirements PMI certification or equivalent ITIL certification BENEFITS Competitive salary plus a comprehensive benefits package including 30 days holiday, generous training possibilities and Telespazio VEGA Deutschland pension scheme is offered to the successful candidate.
