A full house packed the PPL Center on Friday night for another Lehigh Valley first the first Monster Jam, featuring eight monster trucks, with massive wheels, fun personas and eardrum-damaging noise. It's a competition with a huge following, and fans of all ages many wearing ear plugs -- cheered for their favorites: Madusa, the two time world champ driving the pink truck with the same name, and Chad Tingler, driving the ominous looking Grave Digger.

Free wireless has arrived in Allentown, allowing people within a quarter-mile of host antennas on Warrington Avenue to use the Internet, with battery backup in case of power outages. The young company Meta Mesh developed the community networking prototype, PittMesh, and considers the Warrington project the first piece of what its founder, Adam Longwill, expects to promote citywide.
