ANSI reminds ANSI-accredited standards developers (ASDs) that 2016 ASD procedural compliance form must be completed and submitted by March 1, 2016. Within 2016 edition of ANSI Essential Requirements: Due process requirements for American National Standards, there are several revisions: Clause 2.5.2, Clause 3.1, and Clause 4.1 and 4.1.1. On January 27 and February 23, 2016 at 1:00 pm EST, webinars will review 2016 ASD Procedural Compliance Form as well as aforementioned revisions.

NTSB released 9-minute video that highlights crucial role that procedural compliance plays in commercial aviation safety. Primarily targeted at pilots, video uses findings from 7 commercial airplane accidents to show how deviations from standard operating procedures can initiate chain of events that may lead to devastating consequences. Accidents referenced include 2013 crashes of Asiana flight 214 in San Francisco and UPS flight 1354 in Birmingham, Alabama.
