The position will be assigned to the EGSE and Ground Systems Section of the Software Systems Division at ESTEC to provide on demand expertise in activities related to EGSE systems Projects such as Euclid support on the procurement, development and utilisation of EGSE systems, including problem solving, interfaces with external systems and project reviews. Support on RD studies, specifically related to the European Ground System Common Core EGSCC, and Standardization activities in the EGSE domain. Maintenance and future developments of the EGSE Reference Facility as part of the Software Systems Laboratory. This includes integrating industrial elements in the EGSE reference facility and EGSE software libraryconfiguration managementlab website, evaluate needs and generate requirements for enhancements. Qualifications and Experience Applicants should have a university degree or equivalent qualification in Electronic Engineering, Space Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or a related discipline. The candidate shall have extensive practical experience of implementing complex systems, in developing and utilizing EGSEs, in modelling monitoring and control data in compliance with the ESA SCOS monitoring and control systems. Knowledge of modern Software Engineering Practices Tools, as well as Space Systems and Space System Engineering is necessary.
