Client and Location For one of our main customers EUMETSAT, located in Darmstadt Germany, we are currently looking for an engineering consultant who will support the Mission Control Applications and Tools Team MCAT within the Generic Systems and Infrastructure Division. This division is in charge of engineering, maintaining and upgrading generic ground segment functions, services, infrastructure and tools in response to requirements of operational and future programmes. In particular, the MCAT is responsible for the maintenance and evolution of all Satellite and Ground Segment MC applications and tools. Tasks and Responsibilities The Consultant shall support software development and maintenance aspects of MC components and applications. The support is focused on but not limited to the elements that are designed with an objectoriented approach and following a clientserver architectural organization. The development cycle includes the typical phases requirements, design, development, testing with formal procedures related to configuration control, verification against the software requirements and rollout into operations. Development ranges in a mixed multiplatform environment, from fixing problems and engineering changes, technical support to the continuous operation of the system, including analysis, investigation and resolution with the creation of appropriate documentation. Software, Technologies and Engineering skills Experience developing interacting middleware components and applications using TCPIP and CORBA Experience with scripting languages e.g. Python, PHP, Unix Shell scripts, etc...
