We are looking to further enhance our team by adding a Microwave and submillimetre science support You will be based initially for 2 years at our clients headquarters in Darmstadt, Germany. Extension of a further 2 years may be possible. In this large European Agency you will find an excellent and modern working environment with challenging tasks and responsibilities. Your Tasks Include The Consultant will work within Remote Sensing and Products RSP Division of the Technical and Scientific Support TSS Department and will provide support as a member of the Image Navigation, Registration and Calibration Team, interfacing with inhouse experts of various disciplines system, instruments, operations, science, and in particular members of the EPSSG Science Team as well as industrial partners. Hisher responsibilities will primarily cover the development of calibration algorithms for the MWI and ICI mission. The tasks of the Consultant will include Development of algorithms for calibration and navigation of MWI and ICI level 0 data to generate level 1a and 1b datasets Development of prototype software code for the purposes of testing and verification of the algorithms developed Development of a performance model based on specifications to be provided by industry Generation of test data required for the verification of the algorithm and products Contributing to documentation including Algorithm Theoretical Basis Documents, test data descriptions, Product Generation and Product Content Specifications, technical reports, etc Interfacing with experts across the Client domain and with expert groups and the wider scientific community outside the Client as needed Providing support to the development of CalibrationValidation activities. In addition the consultant will provide support to Assessment of results from scientific studies as needed, Participation in reviews. The tasks will evolve as the EPSSG specifications mature in the coming years. Your Profile The consultant shall have the experience and capability to fulfil the assigned tasks with a minimum of supervision. The consultant shall have a university degree in meteorology, atmospheric physics, remote sensing, instrument engineering or equivalent. Heshe shall have a minimum of three years experience in the field of remote sensing. Specifically the consultant shall have Experience in atmospheric remote sensing in the microwave spectrum, Experience in radiative transfer, Indepth understanding of instrument calibration and characterisation, Familiarity with Earth observation systems remote sensing and in situ systems, Handling and processing of remote sensing data, Good writing skills in preparing scientifictechnical documents, Very good skills in a higher programming language e.g. Fortran, C. The following areas of expertise would be an advantage Experience with submillimetre wave radiometry Quality control of satellite data and products Operational product processing environments Familiarity with ground processing activities Experience in visualisation tools, such as IDL or MATLAB Software build environments and version control tools. The consultant shall possess good interpersonal skills. Heshe shall have the ability to write concise and comprehensive documents. This position, based near Frankfurt in Germany, is for a PMO Planning and Scheduling Consultant. Our client is responsible for establishing and operating weather forecasting and Earth observation satellite programmes with associated data telemetry and dissemination operations. The consultant will support the clients Technical and Scientific Support Department participating in the planning and scheduling of their projects portfolio. The consultant shall have at least 5 years experience with the following Planning and scheduling within a large project including conflict resolution Project Portfolio management Expert level usage of MS Project and MS Excel Proven experience in using scheduling planning tools Any experience of scheduling for space segment programmes andor ground segment development and operations will be considered an advantage Candidates should possess a University degree or equivalent. For the location in Darmstadt, Germany we are looking for an SAP Enduser Support Consultant fm at Eumetsat. Tasks The Key person will be part of the Information and Communication Technologies ICT Section within the General Services Division. The ICT Section in the General Services Division is in charge of providing corporate ICT services and infrastructure to internal users. ERP 2005 SAP modules in use at EUMETSAT are FI, CO, MM, SD, Public Sector Management, HR, Project System. EUMETSAT uses Portal technology for workflow and Employee Self Service transactions. EUMETSAT has also implemented SAP BI, including SAP Business Warehouse and SAP Business Objects to fulfil its reporting requirements. It is foreseen, that the tasks of the Key person will include, as a minimum Providing first level support to EUMETSAT endusers in the use of the SAP ERP and BI Reporting system. This will mainly involve providing guidance on navigation and assisting users who are not familiar with SAP, however functional support, particularly in areas supported by ESS and workflows functionality is expected. Supporting the implementation of financials related process enhancements and projects by conducting activities such as testing of new functionality, supporting pilot implementations, rollouts and similar activities in a project environment and providing respective feedback Supporting Business Process Experts in testing for technical upgrades including Support and Enhancement Packages Facilitating the coordination and communication of changes in functionality to the SAP system with emphasis on Financials due to bugs, enhancements, and daily production support. This role is instrumental in helping the SAP Business Process Expert Group and SAP consultants to maintain and refine the internal SAP Change Management Process. This role will include the following tasks as a minimum Monitoring controlling, communicating and tracking the registered bugs with SAP Business Process Experts, SAP Consultants and System Administrators until bug closure Monitoring the transport requests provided for the resolution of bugs or changes to the system Initiating the change management process by collecting change details and creating the related change management forms for the changes to the system functionality Identifying testing, documentation, and training materials that may be affected by system changes with the Business Process Experts BPEs and following up the implementation of the required changes to the affected documentation, including supporting BPEs in the documentation activity Providing second level functional support to EUMETSAT Service Desk members, especially in identifying the root cause of the problem user error, client setup, SAP Bug, Customisation error, authorisation mistake etc., and resolving the call if direct enduser support is required Establishing a knowledge base for end users and EUMETSAT Service Desk of the resolutions to commonly experienced issues questions, calls etc. Providing onetoone or classroom user trainings to EUMETSAT Users, in areas such as Employee Self Service, Basic Navigation, Reporting etc In case of functional support requests, communicating with the SAP Key User Group, and resolving the call raised by the user It is not expected from the Key person to provide support in areas where high degree of specialisation is expected. Heshe is expected to increase hisher knowledge of the EUMETSAT processes and decrease the dependence on the SAP Business Process Expert Group. Essential requirements The Key person is expected to have Proven experience in providing enduser support, and being proficient in using the SAP ERP system, preferably the SAP ERP for the public sector Basic understanding of Functional Modules SAP Financials, SAP Travel Management, SAP Public Sector Management Availability Control, budgeting, reporting functionality for all Modules utilised at EUMETSAT procurement, invoicing, travel, HR expenses, etc. Experience in providing end user training in the areas of SAP navigation, workflow and ESS on SAP portal Basic understanding of SAP workflow concept and models and the ability to review and trace workflow logs and errors Basic understanding of SAP reporting concept, preferably with SAP Business Intelligence Working knowledge of employee self service functionalities such as shopping cart and goodsservice receipt, absence and time management, employee data maintenance, payroll slip, training requests Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office Tools, especially Microsoft Word and Excel The Key person shall have customer focus and service orientation as well as highly effective interpersonal skills in dealing with demanding customers.
