Senate OKs funding for 50,000 free WiFi spots

MANILA The Senate has approved the budget to set up more than 50,000 free WiFi spots nationwide to boost education and help connect the public to information via the internet. Senate President Pro Tempore Ralph Recto said the Senate Finance committee has recommended to increase next year's budget of the Department of Science and Technology's Public Wi-Fi Program from P338 million to P3 billion.
