(Telecompaper) Irish telecoms company Eir confirmed that its new owner NJJ Telecom Europe plans to announce the appointment of Carolan Lennon as CEO-designate and David McRedmond as non-executive chairman-designate. The appointments will become effective after a NJJ Telecom Europe-led consortium completes the acquisition of a majority stake in Eir, which is expected in the first half of 2018.

(Telecompaper) A consortium combining French operator Iliad and NJJ, the private investment vehicle owned by Iliad's founder Xavier Niel, has agreed to acquire a 64.5 percent stake in Irish telecoms operator Eir. Under the proposed deal, NJJ and Iliad will own 32.9 percent and 31.6 percent respectively.
