(Telecompaper) Several major chipmakers have sought exemptions from the new US sanctions against Huawei, so they can continue to supply the company. These include Qualcomm, Micron Technology, Samsung Electronics, Mediatek and Macronix International, reports Caixin Global. New Commerce Department rules that went into force 15 September forbid any company whose production process involves American technology from supplying Huawei with products unless they obtain a licence.

(Telecompaper) US chipmakers are still selling millions of dollars of products to Huawei despite the government ban on the sale of American technology to the Chinese company, four people with knowledge of the sales told the New York Times. Companies such as Intel and Micron have found ways to avoid labeling goods as American-made, notably goods they produce outside the US. The components began to flow to Huawei about three weeks ago, the report said.

Google, US chipmakers break ties with Huawei - report

(Telecompaper) Google as well as chipmakers based in the US are starting to break ties with Huawei, after the US security order that forbid American businesses from selling to the company. Huawei's Android devices will lose access to Google's latest software, Reuters reports, while chipmakers such as Qualcomm and Intel are halting supplies to Huawei, according to Bloomberg.
