NASA Green Tech Research might save commercial airlines billions.

Green-related technologies, developed and refined by NASA aeronautics researchers during past 6 years, could help airlines realize up to $255 billion in operational savings between 2025 and 2050. Developed under purview of NASA's Environmentally Responsible Aviation (ERA) project, said technologies could cut airline fuel use in half, pollution by 75%, and noise to near 1/8 of current levels. Information will be discussed at American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics Sci-Tech Conference.

Aussie firm makes world first US car tech

Australian innovation means US giant General Motors has become the first car maker in the world to offer vehicles embedded with tech allowing owners to track real-time performance on an app. Melbourne-based Connexion Media developed the Commercial Link service for the world's second largest auto maker, which is pitching it as a way for small and medium businesses to keep track of vehicles with a view to boosting efficiency.
