Dec 21 Western Refining Inc said it had reached an agreement to buy the shares of Northern Tier Energy LP it did not already own, in a deal that values the refiner at $2.43 billion. Northern Tier unitholders will now receive $15 in cash and 0.2986 of Western Refining share for each unit held, the companies said on Monday.

Reuters: Dozens of forest fires raged across northern Spain on Sunday after strong winds hindered efforts to keep them from spreading, forcing some homes to be evacuated in the worst-affected Asturias region. More than 100 fires were still burning on Sunday morning in Asturias alone despite rain overnight in some areas, emergency services said.
