Tasks and Activities The scope of work will include Technical support to maintenance, evaluative maintenance and operations of TECES laboratories. The laboratory is an engineering tool used to support the research activities of the Payload System Division and ESA projects in the following areas Microwave technologies from below 1 GHz to beyond 100 GHz. RF High Power subsystems and techniques. Navigation payloads and Receivers technologies. Remote Sensing payloads and Calibration transponders Technologies. Communication Payloads TTC, Digital and secure Technologies. The following facilities and test beds are available in the lab to evaluate and characterise the performances achieved in the technologies listed above Specialised RF measurements and calibration techniques and facilities. Radio Navigation measurement and simulation facilities. Atomic Clocks long term performance characterisation facilities. Navigation Payload performance characterisation test bed. Development of highly specialised prototype electrical ground support equipment. Development of calibration techniques for inorbit RF radars. Life Test facility to evaluate the long term performance of inorbit life limited RF subsystems. MICMMIC prototype circuit integration using dedicated equipment such as wire and ribbon bonding machines, eutectic die bonding and testing using on wafer probing station. Assist with the integration, configuration and running of test equipment andor test setups employed in evaluating the performance of RF subsystems or instruments for space application such as PIM performance, multipactor performance and high power evaluation. General laboratory support such as, scheduled maintenance, replacement of consumables, and design of mechanical housings and test jigs for RF circuits. Development of control software using LabviewVEE for automated monitoring and control of test beds or instruments. Organisation and maintenance of laboratory library, which includes documentation operating manuals, test reports and general documentation. Operation, maintenance and calibration of the laboratory equipment and test facilities. Maintain up to date divisional equipment inventory list, which involves using of dedicated software for tractability and control of inventory including lent out equipment. Skills and Experience The following skills and experience are mandatory PhD or Msc Engineering from a recognised Institution of secondary studies University, Ecole suprieure, etc. or equivalent. At least 4 years of relevant experience in RD for Radio Navigation activities. Fluency in English. Eligibility to obtain a personal security clearance. Strong knowledge on the design of satellite navigation systems, ranging and positioning techniques, signal processing techniques and GNSS security and processing facilities.
