We are currently looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to support our customer in Germany. Mechanical Design Engineer Key Tasks and Responsibilities As part of the Mechanical Design Office, you will have the following responsibilities Mechanical configuration of satellites, payloads and mechanisms Development of mechanical designs for satellites and instrument structures Development of lightweight structure designs in particular highly stable structures Employing new design concepts and materials such as composites fibrereinforced and ceramics Development and documentation of mechanical designs under consideration of functional, material and manufacturing requirements and constraints Installation and integration studies on satellite and subsystem levels Hardware procurement and manufacturing support Generation of product definition drawings and documentation for bids and projects. Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant proved work experience Design Development fundamentals Design process Design tools, preferably CATIA V5 Design for Assembly and for Manufacturing Materials and Mechanics Fundamentals MecaTherm Spacecraft Architecture Fluency in English is mandatory knowledge of the German language is an advantage. We require staff, wishing to join our team to work in a dynamic international environment for the following position Mechanical Design Engineer mf SGSFPG201501 Tasks and Responsibilities The successful candidate will join the ICE Cubes Project Team, whose activities cover the establishment of the International Commercial Experiment Cubes ICE Cubes Service. This service will provide rapid, simplified, low cost access to the International Space Station ISS. The candidatewill deal with the structural design and development of the ICE Cubes Facility, a payload to be hosted in the ISS, the structural analysis with static and dynamic load conditions during launch, and the thermal analysis flow simulation related to forced air or water cooling. The position is located in our offices in Zaventem Brussels and might involve international travel with short collocation periods for working with Europeanpartners. Qualifications and Experience Applicants should have a Master or PhD degreeinMechanical Engineering or equivalent. A few years of experience in a similar role is a plus, but a combination of relevant educational background, technical other skills and expertise can also suffice. You will ensure detailed structure and design of spacecrafts. Your main tasks and responsibilities will include Supports the Project Responsible Engineer during the lifecycle of the project. Is accountable to the Responsible Engineer for the detailed design of those structural items defined by the Responsible Engineer. Must liaise with transverse engineering and manufacturing groups and with the project team and other organisations to optimise the design definition and to ensure that all structural requirements for those items defined by the Responsible Engineer are met. Key Purpose The Imager electronics team delivers high quality, high reliability imagers to our clients fleet of earth observation spacecraft. The role would be ideally suited to a mixed signal design engineer with experience of driving imaging sensors and looking for a career move. Responsibility for the delivery of Imager Electronic equipment. The role includes full design life cycle from the requirements capture stage through design, production and test to inorbit verification and commissioning of Imager Electronic systems. Key Tasks Mixed Signal, Digital Analogue circuit design. Schematic capture board level design. Circuit simulation where required. Test planning, test and verification. System Subsystem level interfacing and tradeoffs. Interface with internal and external customers. Provide support and advice to spacecraft operators. Management and delivery of imager electronics work packages. Qualifications Degree in Electronics Engineering or equivalent. Experience in the following Mixed signal board level design. Driving imaging sensors CCDs CMOS. Digital and analogue circuit design. Hands on design and fault finding during test. Knowledge and Skills Understanding of imaging sensors CCDs CMOS. Good VHDL knowledge. Selfmotivated and able to manage a package of work. Excellent interpersonal skills both written and oral communications ability to interface with customers and technical representatives. Good understanding of digital and analogue electronics. Creative problem solving. Ability to work simultaneously on a variety of projects and under pressure. Flexible adaptable to changing priorities. Good MS Office skills Word, Excel, PowerPoint particularly.
