SME and its subsidiaries will host various activities on October 2 and throughout that month as gold sponsors of Manufacturing Day 2015. To drive interest and awareness in manufacturing, select Partnership Response In Manufacturing Education (PRIME) schools will host and participate in open houses, manufacturing facility tours, career festivals, industry panels, and field trips. Tooling U-SME will present Platinum Education Center designation to community and technical colleges.

Nashville chapter of SME will join Tennessee Chamber of Commerce and the Tennessee Manufacturers Association in showcasing opportunity on Manufacturing Day (October 2, 2015). Opening at 8 am, Nashville's Adventure Science Center will welcome participants engaged in business and education as well as welcome those looking for manufacturing employment. There will be multiple opportunities at this event as fostered by Business Track, Education Track, and Job Seeker Track.

Dollar rises on lift in Chinese manufacturing, more gains seen for dairy

The New Zealand dollar rose after an official measure of manufacturing in China improved last month and traders bet next week's dairy auction will herald further gains in prices. The kiwi rose to 64.08 US cents as at 5pm in Wellington, from 63.65 cents late yesterday.
