You will join the MP Laboratories Investigations France department and will carry out investigations regarding the effects of the space environment on materials in particular the effects of atomic oxygen. You will also follow up contamination for Earth observation programmes. You will be in charge of the following activities Making sure that the materials used in the programmes comply with requirements in terms of resistance to the space environment atomic oxygen, radiation and suggesting and leading RD studies related to this topic Making sure that the design, the selected materials and the orbital conditions guarantee the level of properties required as regards the onboard optical instruments.This position will require frequent travel for business once every two weeks within Europe, and, as such, you must be able to travel accordingly.As the successful candidate, you will be able to demonstrate some of the following skills and experience Engineering degree or university equivalent, ideally in Materials Initial experience in Materials Engineering activities linked to contamination andor surface cleaning processes optical systems, microelectronics, etc. Good knowledge of materials and procedures ideally in space environment, Ideally, good knowledge of the effects of atomic oxygen, the contamination of optical systems, and the associated characterisation methods Advanced level of English and French.
