Metropolitan Transit Authority board members are set to approve a $30.66 million construction contract on the half-mile overpass next week . The overpass is needed to complete the Green Line rail along Harrisburg to the Magnolia Park Transit Center, near Gus Wortham Golf Course, and to cross the Union Pacific freight rail tracks.

The Citizen reports that Jefrey Padillia, 42, of Oakville, was issued an infraction for failure to obey State Traffic Commission signs and markings that warned of the low clearance . There were no injuries in the incident and inspectors from the Metropolitan Transportation Authority deemed that there was no structural damage to the overpass and the safety of the railroad tracks was not compromised, according to the Citizen.
