Fiat Chrysler Automobiles , the seventh-largest automaker in the world, skipped the usual investor tour that was traditional before launching its share listing on the NYSE - but they are now starting to meet them after the latest financial move. FCA started seeing the investors late last week on Friday after premiering a $2.5 billion convertible bond issue and a share sale - the company merged Italy's Fiat SpA and America's Chrysler Group LLC and moved its primary share listing to the New York Stock Exchange in October.

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV touched the highest price since the carmaker's creation in October after Chief Executive Officer Sergio Marchionne formally began a stock and bond sale to boost cash by $3.7 billion euros. Fiat Chrysler is selling at least 87 million shares and a $2.5 billion mandatory convertible bond due in 2016, the London- based manufacturer said in a filing late yesterday.

The newly created FCA, which moved its primary share listing to New York in October, wants to invest 48 billion euros by 2018 to turn Jeep, Maserati and Alfa Romeo into global brands. The company hopes to take on Volkswagen , the holding company of the Agnelli family that founded Fiat, said it would participate in the bond issue by purchasing an amount that would protect its stake of around 31 percent from dilution.
