Senior Analyst, Business Applications Ref SES0753 Region Europe Location Luxembourg Betzdorf Company SES Category IT Software Development Position Staff Published 20160308 Context In order to support SES strategic business orientations, we are looking for a Senior Analyst, Business Applications. Heshe is directly responsible for the design, analysis and implementation of IT solutions within the SES group and affiliated companies, as well as for IT project support within the organisation and customer related projects. HeShe will execute projects and maintenance within the Satellite Support applications delivery field, with regard to timely task and project implementation. The Analyst will advertise the available offerings to the various Business Process Owners BPOs, proposing and implementing technical solutions for new and enhanced services to solve the customer requirements. The incumbent will need to be inventive at times to achieve the most efficient solutions possible. This is done through engaging with endusers at all levels of the organisation. The senior analyst will work closely with the developers to make sure the output matches business expectations, and will work with the Demand Management, Architecture Management, ERP Delivery and IT Service Delivery to ensure projects have strong business cases, are compliant with SES architecture and are coordinated cross functionally. The incumbent will be responsible for setting realistic expectations about the scope and timing of delivery, following the established SES IT processes in the implementations Responsibilities Interface with end users, customers and stakeholders to understand, analyse, document and develop IT system requirements in both the service and project delivery process Support of maintenance and development of the Satellite Support applications such as OneSatPlan, SES Link Budget and Capacity Planning and others as assigned according to specification and schedule Work with developers directly on the execution of the changes Ensure all technical documentation is maintained Ensure the development design is efficient and performant Execute the first functional testing before handing off to BPOs for acceptance Training of Satellite Support systems and end users as part of the deployment process Responsible for the timely implementation for hisher projects and activities Act as the interface between the executing party IT and the internal andor external customers Develop and maintain Project Plans and Budget Analyse and propose alternative technical solutions with development team support as needed to BPOs, then work with them to document the changes and their benefits Take ownership of resolving assigned tasks and problems resulting in problem resolution Stay uptodate with stateoftheart concepts and technologies and use this knowledge to analyse and maintain systems Execute work related tasks inside the team, closely collaborating with other team members wherever necessary Provide inputs to the Manager, Satellite Support Apps Business Application for administrative and management tasks Provide support to internal and external customers for clarification of technical matters and the resolution of technical issues Provide effective second level support Provide other engineering or project management tasks as assigned Ensure that all systems selected or developed comply with prevailing IT Architectural Standards including but not limited to security standards and Information Security policies Manage and measure the support for applications during and after implementation including the resolution of all problems associated with their successful operation Manage Critical Vendors in support of Systems Experience Qualifications . Minimum of 57 years of applicable professional experience . Bachelor degree in information technology or similar . Sound technical understanding of the IT landscape and related technical skills as well as its business application . Some international travel required . Ability to work with remote colleagues and management . Fluency in written and spoken English. French, German and Luxembourgish are also an asset . Proven project management and negotiation skills Strong ability to take and challenge business requirements in order to find the most efficient solutions possible . Ability to work internationally in a matrixmanaged, resultsoriented environment . Strong team player and ability to lead a project team . Ability to tackle complex projects and develop workable solutions in pressure situations . Ability to liaise with management and take decisions appropriate to this level . Ability to interpret complex technical issues and communicate the business value of IT standards and structured approach . Excellent communications skills, both written and oral .
