Coordinate with OPS the MMI definition and Main Control Room layout organisation harmonising the usage of the new infrastructure and its impact on the operation concepts SYS. Provide point of contact in OPIT for JPS operations development and validation SYS. Coordination of the development of JPS Joint Operation Plans JORP, Operations Interface Control Documents OICD and any necessary updated of the JPS operations concept ConOps and ICDs SYS. Manage the Operational Database WODB, implement the changes requested by satellite operation team, validate and deploy new versions according to OPS asbuilt CM processes. This also include the management of the Satellite Reference Database SRDB and Satellite Characterisation Database SCDB delivered by industry, the consistency checks and their use to build a new WODB. Each new version of a database received or deployed shall be documented in a database report. The management of the WODBs also include the configuration and the usage of the associated operation preparation tools and editors. It is also envisaged that the WODB will be subject to extensive enhancements with respect to the SRDB in order to facilitate safe and efficient operations SAT. Define the Database and OnBoard Software Ops Guides in coordination with the satellite operations team leader and maintain the associated Ops Prep Working Practice SAT. Contribute to OICDs with external partners with respect to OBSW and Databases items SAT. Ops Prep operations validation phase and team training. This includes Maintain the Operations Validation Plan OVP and coordinate tasks and teams for the validation of the operational scenarios OSV SYS. Define the Simulation Campaign Plan, organise all the related activities and coordinates all teams involved with the objective to provide a readiness status of the Operation Team for Launch SYS. Maintain the SIOV Rehearsal Plan, prepare and conduct the rehearsals including also the preparation and the coordination with of external supports SAT. Manage the MetopSG simulator deliveries to Client, maintain all the SATSIM instances including the ones at BUCC and LEOPSP sites and maximise availability to the users in OPIT for procedures development and testing, SSVTs, OSV, simulation campaign and SIOV rehearsals SAT. Define and maintain the MetopSG Simulation Operation Guide SAT. Monitor and maintain the validation status of operation procedures and static data items in coordination with satellite team SAT. Coordinate with OPS team leaders to ensure compliance with existing OPS workflows and processes as per Operations Management Plan OMP SYS. Coordinate with IVV team to deliver as necessary validated operational scenarios for VV test cases performed and by IVV team SYS. Contribute to SSVT Specification Plans and support SSVT preparations and executions w.r.t. the System Ops and infrastructure needs SYS. Coordinate the TRRTRB as needed SYS. Contribute to CCB maintaining as necessary the OPS Baseline and the Ops Prep WBS SYS Ops Prep engineering tasks to support Ground and Space Segments procurement and System teams. This includes Support the Simulator factory acceptances FAT and OSAT, reviews, and integration with the MCS SAT. Coordinate interactions and support the OGS procurement teams providing a main point of contact in Ops Prep Team OPIT for PDAP subsegment SYS. Support FOMs Question to Industry process with SSST and, via for example dedicated workshops SAT. Participate as necessary to ARBs on OGS subsystems and joint ARBs with the satellite manufacturer SATSYS. Support the OGS, MetopSG and LEOP reviews and provide support as Project Team to EPSSG System reviews SATSYS. Provide input for identification and monitoring of risks in the technical domain concerned with this service SYS Provide input and support for anomalynone conformance investigation and resolution and if needed RFDRFW processing SATSYS. Provide input to keep uptodate the System CORE model related to Operational activities, data flows and interfaces SYS. Provide a single interface within OPIT for the management of the satellite and instrument characteristic databases SCDB and support FDF and PDAP team for their respective Databases SAT. Administrate and maintain the MetopSG simulators SATSIM in operational condition ensuring continuity of the service for OPIT users when new versions are delivered. Manage scenarios, breakpoints and provide support to review, acceptances and anomaly management also including the deliveries to the LEOPSP. Ensure trainings and a SATSIM backup expertise in OPIT SAT. Responsible for overseeing activities required to customise Offline AR for the MetopSG 1A and MetopSG 1B satellites, which share a largely common platform but different instruments. In this frame the tasks include SAT Validation and verification of ingestion of data from the Operational Ground Segment Definition and prototypingdevelopment of Python scripts necessary to perform all routine analysis resulting in timeseries data or events. After these have been incorporated into the CHART system by the Software Team such that their results are written to the Validation Database, the Contractor will be responsible for validating the results before authorising their release to the Operational Instance. Definition of report structures in XML, and if necessary, addition to the existing library of Python widgets used to plot and display data. Definition of use cases for the GS functions and list of data sets needed for CalVal and SDQAR Science Data Quality Analysis and Reporting purposes, including required timeliness for provision and required retention times in the GS engineering environment SYS. Coordinate the relevant inputs from members of the OPIT and Flight Operations Manuals and determine the best way to implement the required offline monitoring within the Offline AR tool CHART, and also play a leading role in defining how best to visualise data in the context of periodic reports. Prioritisation of work will be coordinated with the Satellite Ops Prep team leader and reiterated as necessary according to the project schedule and criticality of each SAT. Support the Handover from PRD to OPS ensuring Operation Baseline Documentation and knowledge developed by the service team is properly transferred to operation department SYS.

LEO Operation Preparation Engineer

Job description For our customer in Darmstadt we are looking for a Operation Preparation Engineer to support EPSSG mission. The selected candidate shall be integrated in a service team of 4 to 5 FullTime positions.The main objective of operations preparation activities is to deliver the operations and maintenance procedures, operations guides, MMI definition and training packages to OPS Department. It also includes specific activities such as the handover to OPS and the transition from EPS routine operations to EPSEPSSG operations. The Operations Preparation phase involves several key activities leading up to the System Integration, Verification and Validation Review SIVVR, which is itself an input to the Launch and Operations Readiness Review LORR SatelliteSystem Validation Tests SSVTs are executed to validate the main elements of the Ground Segment located at EUMETSAT HQ required for command and control of the satellites. This involves connecting the Mission Control System at EUMETSAT to the Satellites in the AIT rooms in Toulouse and Friedrichshafen for SatA and SatB respectively and performing a series of operations which focus in particular on areas where the Satellite Simulator may not be fully representative. Operations Validation Slots OV slots will validate the Systems ability to perform representative operations, which are defined in the Reference Operations Plan, as well as all internal and external interfaces to the system. These OV Slots rely heavily on the Satellite Simulator for execution. The scope of the OVs can cover everything from contingency operations, to running the entire system in a nominal manner over a long duration. Simulations Campaign and Rehearsals. These are performed in the frame of the preparation for the Satellite In Orbit Verification SIOV activities. During these rehearsals, the most critical parts of the SIOV will be rehearsed, with the Project Support Team Industry and Partners involved in the procurementdevelopment of the satellite and instruments present at EUMETSAT. These will involve both nominal scenarios, and contingencies with anomalies injected into the Simulator. The candidate shall provide expertise in as many as possible of the following Competence Areas Satellite Simulator and Simulation officer Database OBSW External Interfaces and System Ops Prep Engineering System Engineering support tools for modelling and verification Performance Analysis trending Anomaly Handling Tasks and Responsibilities The Contractor shall be involved in all the operation preparation phases, and all related validation of the operational scenarios including Launch and InOrbit System Validation SIOV of the first pair of MetopSG satellites. The tasks the Contractor shall support have been split into two categories SAT tasks related to a satellite operation skills SYS tasks requirement system operations skills The Contractor shall contribute to Ops Prep development phase Ops Prep operations validation phase and team training Ops Prep engineering tasks to support Ground and Space Segments procurement and System teams. You will support the Ground Stations and External Interfaces GSEI team within the RealTime Services and System Operations RSO division and support the daily operations of the Ground Stations and their interfaces to the other components of the ground segments to ensure their maximum availability and reliability. This role will focus on the ground stations supporting EUMETSATs geostationary GEO satellites MTP, MSG and MTG but you will also be expected to support the low earth orbit LEO stations when required. Responsibilities You will be expected to acquire and maintain Systemwide knowledge of the Ground Segments, particularly in the areas of spacecraft monitoring control and the flow of mission data, due to the central role the ground station plays in spacecraft and ground segment operations. Typical activities to be undertaken are Longterm planning and shortterm scheduling of the operational usage of the ground stations to support both the needs of the Flight Operations Division FLO and Ground Stations engineering team Interface with project teams for the implementation of system upgrades to support major operations projects and major activities described in the Operational System MidTerm Evolution Plan.
