Glatfelter sued by EEOC for alleged disability discrimination

2015-09-30 01:05:46| Industrial Machines - Topix.net

Glatfelter is facing a lawsuit from the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, alleging the York-based paper manufacturer broke federal law at its Spring Grove facility by using an overly broad standard to determine whether people who apply for positions operating forklifts, lift trucks and similar industrial trucks are physically capable of doing the job. The company also required applicants for such positions to undergo a physical exam, something forklift operators at the company's facility in Chillicothe, Ohio, aren't required to do, the EEOC alleged in its lawsuit, filed Tuesday in U.S. District Court in Harrisburg.
