Our client requires a selfmotivated individual to provide expert support with regards to all aspects of satellite communications payload engineering. The incumbent will support the development, inorbit testing and validation of a new communication space segment concept in order to deliver high quality communications capabilities. The incumbent will be part of the system engineering team during the design and integration phase, as well as will be in charge of the inorbit testing and commissioning of the payload including writing procedures, and executing the tests. Responsibilities Participate in satellite development reviews and test campaigns to ensure that our requirements are fulfilled Analyze and provide recommendations for timely resolution of communication subsystems technical problems Support the operational team as required Be oncall for the In Orbit fleet Provide timely reporting to management for critical and routine activities Essential Knowledge and Skills Good experience in communications system design and analysis Ability to undertake analysis, verification and validation of performance data e.g. GT, EIRP, linearity etc Understand various communication networks and protocols Understand IP and PSTN gateways Ability to analyze and asses communication payload anomalies in orbit Ability to plan and execute InOrbit Tests for communication payload Good knowledge and understanding of satellite design, and assembly integration test methodology Excellent writing and reporting skills Excellent communication skills with people at all levels of the organization Desirable Knowledge and Skills A passionate desire to take on challenging analysis and programming tasks and deliver innovative solutions in a timely manner Personal drive to take the organization as far as it can go A demonstrated ability to work across organizational boundaries Objective, rational and multidisciplinary thinking Courage to act upon convictions Flexibility to travel and work periodically in different facilities, worldwide A high degree of integrity Provide candid feedback Ability to face up to problems quickly and take action
