UK inflation rate falls to 2.4%

The UK's inflation rate fell to 2.4% in April, says the Office for National Statistics, down from 2.8% in March.

UK consumer price inflation held steady at 2.8% in March, at its highest level since May last year, the Office for National Statistics said.

UK consumer price inflation remained unchanged at 2.7% for the fourth consecutive month in January, after a big rise in alcohol and tobacco prices.
