Sigma-Aldrich gets final antitrust approval for Merck merger

Sigma-Aldrich on Tuesday said it has received approval from Brazil's Council for Economic Defense for its planned $17 billion merger with Germany's Merck KGaA. The St. Louis-based company said it represents the final outstanding approval required for the merger, announced in September 2014.
