2016-03-24 02:11:17| Food - Topix.net
Archer Daniels Midland Co has filed a lawsuit against Canadian Pacific over service disruptions in 2013 and 2014 at crop-processing plants in North Dakota and Minnesota, alleging they stemmed partly from cost-cutting and the Canadian railroad's pursuit of merger partners. Chicago-based ADM, one of the world's largest grain traders and processors, filed suit against CP in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of Illinois last Friday, seeking damages "resulting from one of the worst and most persistent railroad service failures experienced by ADM in many years."

UPDATE 2-Australia investigating service stations for possible failure to pass on oil plunge
2015-01-15 12:16:27| Energy - Topix.net
Australian authorities said on Thursday they would start investigating petrol stations without warning for possible price fixing after a lawmaker accused some of failing to pass on huge falls in the oil price to consumers. The probe will put additional pressure on firms like Chevron Corp and its half-owned retail subsidiary Caltex Australia Ltd, Britain's BP Plc and Dutch Vitol which dominate Australia's service station industry.
