China Telecom still leads mobile growth in October, Unicom sees mobile base decline

(Telecompaper) China Telecom added the most new mobile subscribers in China in October, growing by around 810,000 million to a total of 350.16 million. Market leader China Mobile added 163,000 customers to reach 946.34 million, and China Unicom lost 148,000 in the month to 309.03 million.

Cotton prices have begun to bottom out in China, boosted by the new rally in New York cotton futures. Yarn prices could now stop declining, as a result. Our weekly report covers China's fiber and yarn prices on cotton, polyester, and viscose markets. Domestic and Import yarn price indicators are released, and local market prices in Qianqing (Zhejiang), including a large number of counts for spun cotton, polyester, viscose, and blends. China's share of the US apparel import market plunged significantly in the first three quarters of the year, due to a fall in volume terms aggravated by a 20% decline in Chinese unit prices. Even Chinese shipments of man-made fiber apparel have not resisted the negative impact of the pandemic and of higher US tariffs. Our quarterly report compares US apparel imports from China with shipments from the Rest of the World (RoW) for every category of products, in volume, value, and unit value terms. China Mobile partners Nokia to expand enterprise IoT connectivity globally

(Telecompaper) Nokia was selected by China Mobile to provide IoT connectivity and services to customers across China and globally. The partnership will enable CMIoT to expand its international OneLink IoT functionalities, which will be underpinned by Nokia's Worldwide IoT Network Grid (Wing) managed service. Nokia Wing's network nodes, deployed around the world, will be integrated with the OneLink IoT SIM Card Connection and Management Platform to provide unified connectivity management for CMIoT's international business customers.
