(Telecompaper) Qualcomm has acquired a patent portfolio from HP, including technology from the handset maker Palm acquired by HP in 2010. The portfolio comprises 1,400 granted patents and pending patent applications from the US and another 1,000 patents and applications from other countries. Qualcomm said it "covers technologies that include fundamental mobile operating system techniques", including IP related to products under the Palm, Bitfone and Ipaq brands. The companies did not disclose the purchase price of the deal.
