Valeant Pharma says may buy back up to $2 billion worth of securities

The company said it could buy back senior notes, shares or other securities under the new program, which will begin on Nov. 21, the same day its old program ends. The announcement comes a few days after acquisition-hungry Valeant's $54 billion offer to buy Botox maker Allergan Inc "Valeant's board of directors believes that the proposed purchases are in the best interests of the company and are a desirable use of corporate funds," the company said in a statement on Thursday.

Appointed by Altaris Capital Partners, George E. Aitken -Davies remains a member of the Nomination Committee of Moberg Pharma until the Annual General Meeting in May 2015.

Suicides Not Caused By Suicide-Linked Drugs Say Pharma Consultants to the Military

Once again, Pharma-subsidized consultants have looked at suicides in the military and managed to not see the suicide-linked drugs given to troops, some of which grew by 700 percent in the past years. In March, a report in JAMA Psychiatry penned by authors with financial links to Eli Lilly, GlaxoSmithKline, Ortho-McNeil, Janssen, Pfizer, Sanofi-Aventis, Shire and Johnson & Johnson said the deaths are a mystery but they certainly aren't from psychoactive drugs whose labels have boxed warnings about suicide ! SSRI antidepressants are called "first line medications for PTSD pharmacotherapy in men and women with military-related PTSD" in the VA's Iraq War Clinician Guide but did not merit a mention by the authors.
