Delta Air to take payments via Alipay from Chinese travelers

Delta Air Lines Inc has become the first U.S. airline to accept payments via Alipay, the PayPal-like service run by an Alibaba Group Holding Ltd affiliate that is used by hundreds of millions of Chinese consumers. The airline has started taking payment for flight tickets on delta.com from Alipay's 300 million-plus registered users, Alipay said in a statement on Wednesday.

Commonwealth Bank of Australia expects tens of thousands of its new Albert point-of-sale devices to appear in Australian restaurants, cafes and retail stores, transforming payments and gathering richer data. CBA customers will be able to use Albert, a wireless, 7-inch Android tablet with touchscreen that has been developed in association with German banking tech giant Wincor Nixdorf.

Feds move to enhance Advance Payments Program for producers

Agriculture Minister Gerry Ritz on Monday highlighted major enhancements to the Advance Payments Program designed to improve and streamline administration, provide greater flexibility and more repayment options, and ease access to the program for producers. On Feb. 27, 2015, the government announced the coming into force of the Agricultural Growth Act which makes improvements to the Advance Payments Program .

Vodafone to add card payments to Wallet in Q2

(Telecompaper) Vodafone customers will soon be able to add bank cards to their Vodafone Wallet and use smartphones to pay for goods and services at contactless terminals. Following new agreements with Visa Europe and Carta Worldwide, bank card payments via Vodafone Wallet will be enabled in European markets from the second quarter of 2015 onwards. Customers can already add loyalty cards into the Vodafone Wallet, as well as pay with Vodafone SmartPass, which was launched in partnership with Visa in 2013. Vodafone Wallet is currently available in Germany, Spain, the UK, Italy and The Netherlands.
