The principle tasks and responsibilities include Provide electronic assembly expert support to defined ESA projects, reporting to the Product Assurance and Safety Managers and provide technical expertise in NRBs Provide technical assessment support to the review of verification in compliance with the ECSS Provide technical auditor support to the ESA audit of electronic assembly line Support Mandatory Inspection Point as a Cat 2 Inspector for electronic assembly Participate to the Assembly PCB Component Technology Board working group Participate to the Assembly PCB coordination meeting Support laboratory characterisation and verification for space use of a variety of materials as well as electronic assembly and repair soldering, solderless connection, crimping, etc. and printed circuit boards. Specific qualification requirements Masters degree or equivalent qualification in materials engineering and science, materials physicsmetallurgy or another related field. Several years industrial experience preferably covering aerospace hardware and RD. Experience in conducting electronic assembly verification reviews. Excellent knowledge of ECSSQST70082638707071 requirement. Good knowledge of PCB technologies. Decision maker Capable to take technical decisions in electronic assembly and materials and processes in general. Minimum of 3 years of experience in assembly expertise. Understanding of space missions related requirements and capability to propose verification methods including testing, analysis, inspections. Materials laboratory handson experience related to metallic materials and manufacturing processes characterisationverification and failure investigation. Good interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work effectively, autonomously and cooperatively in a diverse and international team environment, defining and implementing solutions in line with team and individual objectives, as well as project deadlines. Proficient in the English Language Spoken and Written. Legal and Security Requirements All applicants must be legally allowed to work in The Netherlands Applicants are required to provide a copy of their passport and degree certificate. Aurora will validate the Degree with the issuing University and provide evidence to ESA. Prior to issuing a letter of employment the applicant shall provide to Aurora a recent official document declaring that they are of good conduct from the country where currently resident. Location The work will be performed at the European Space Technology and Research Centre ESTEC at Noordwijk, The Netherlands. Contract The selected candidate will receive good remuneration. Will be registered for both social security and tax in the Netherlands. The standard working hours are 40 per week. There are 12 public holidays and an additional 30 annual days holiday. Support the provision of independent state of the art testing facilities and associated capabilities in both ESTEC and ECSAT for performing materials and processes verification and failure investigation on ESA Projects ESTEC as well as on RD related products ECSAT. Support the establishment and implementation of standards for the development and procurement of space grade materials and processes. Provide technical support to the Certification Authority for space Materials and Processes of the European Space Industry both at product as well as company level. Support the maintenance and development of ESAs competences in the field of materials and manufacturing and applied processes.
