Over 60 percent of Dutch take tablet on holiday

(Telecompaper) Six in ten Dutch consumers expect to take their tablet on vacation with them, according to research by the Telecompaper Consumer Panel in July. That's down from 66 percent a year ago. The drop may be due to more people owning bigger smartphones, making tablets less needed. Men were more likely than women to say they will take their tablet on holiday, at 64 percent versus 57 percent of women. A third of men said they want their tablet for reading news and email, while only 23 percent of women see a need for this. iPad users also gave more reasons to use their tablet on holiday than users of Samsung tablets. Nearly three in ten iPad users said they would use the tablet to check the weather and tourist information, compared to only 20 percent of Samsung tablet owners.

High risk of modern slavery in nearly 60 percent of countries, global index finds

Reuters: Almost 60 percent of countries are at high risk of using slave labor in their supply chains, according to a new global index launched on Thursday, which also ranked North Korea as having the worst record of slave labor in the world. By assessing incidents of human trafficking or slavery, national laws, and the quality of law enforcement across 198 countries, risk analytics company Verisk Maplecroft found that 115 countries were at high or extreme risk of using slaves.
