When 10 Barrel Brewing Company opened the doors to its cavernous brewpub at 830 W. Bannock St. last year, Boiseans were quick to embrace the addition to the Treasure Valley's burgeoning beer scene. So much so that the Bend, Ore.-based company was voted Best Local Brewpub in the 2013 Best of Boise by such a wide margin that we had to make an exception to our local-only stipulation for winners.

Hyundai Motor Co and affiliate Kia Motors unveiled share buybacks worth a combined 670 billion won , in an apparent bid to appease investors angered by the sky-high price paid for property to house new headquarters. Although buyback plans aimed at rewarding employees are common, schemes aimed at enhancing shareholder value are rare for South Korean automakers.

Jackson County allocated $10 million in funds toward purchase of the Rock Island Corridor

According to a press release from Lisa Carter, public information officer for the county, Jackson County has been allocated $10 million in federal highway transportation funds to apply toward the $59.9 million total cost of purchasing the Rock Island Corridor. In addition, Jackson County and the Union Pacific Railroad have extended a memorandum of understanding that gives the county the exclusive right to purchase key transit corridors which have the potential to be used for expanded public transit options in the future.

TK completes purchase of ex-Nypro plant in China

Hong Kong-based mold maker and plastics processor TK Group Ltd. has made it official: it's acquiring a mold making plant in Shenzhen, China, from Nypro Tool, a unit of global contract manufacturer Jabil Inc. TK told the Hong Kong Stock Exchange Oct. 31 that it was buying the former Nypro Tool facility in Shenzhen, after disclosing to regulators in mid-September that it was planning to buy a tooling operation there from an unidentified multinational company. The address provided by TK in that September filing matched that a Nypro Tool operation in the Longgang District of Shenzhen, although TK at the time declined to confirm it was the Nypro operation.
