We are looking for a Flight Dynamics Software Engineer who will play a crucial role in the design and development of our Flight Dynamics software PLENITER Orbit, as well as other upcoming space projects. The successful candidate will work in our Darmstadt office in the Flight Dynamics Team. Tasks Conceptual design implementation and validation of operational flight dynamics algorithms e.g. trajectory optimisation, collision avoidance, orbit determination, orbit propagation, attitude modelling, etc. Software architecture and functional design Technical consultancy for several ongoing space projects Participation in the proposals for upcoming mission opportunities Direct reporting to the Flight Dynamics Team leader Essential requirements The successful candidate shall have A university degree in aerospace engineering, mathematics, physics or equivalent A solid knowledge of spacecraft flight dynamics and celestial mechanics 3 years of relevant experience in design, development and validation of flightdynamics related software Experience in objectoriented programming Capability to learn different software and scripting languages Analytical and structured mindset i.e. capable of analysing and solving complex problems Capability to work independently and under time pressure Proactive and teamworking attitude Fluency in English Desirable requirements Proficiency in Java Familiarity with flight dynamics operations operational experience Experience with flight dynamics software tools Knowledge in the field of spacecraft Guidance, Navigation Control Experience with other programming languages Additional Information Start date is beginning of June 2018 or as soon as possible after that The candidate must have a valid German work and residence permit or be an EU citizen With SCISYS you get the chance to take responsibility for your own and varied professional activities, while there is always room for producing new ideas and contributing your personality. This job is to participate in the operations team of ispace lunar lander missions as Flight Dynamics engineer. The ideal candidate will have a broad knowledge of orbital dynamics and navigation. Specific experience in deepspace navigation and targeting to other planets or moons is desired. The effort includes all phases from ground infrastructure design and validation to operations preparation and post flight analysis. Key Responsibilities Participate in product definition, specification and requirements phases Collaborate on architecture design, component selection, including make or buy decisions, with other design and analysis team members Document requirements and specification Design, simulate, and test guidance, navigation, and control algorithms for spacecraft Validate and verify GNC flight software through softwareintheloop, processorintheloop, and hardwareintheloop integration campaign Support mission design and lunar landing site selection Support integration, troubleshooting and testing Basic Qualifications Masters degree in Aerospace Engineering, Physics or equivalent. Five or more years experience in spacecraft navigation and operations. Experience in operational software development and validation.
