For one of our customers we are currently recruiting a Test Engineer for their location in Leiden, the Netherlands. With more than 200 employees, this company makes a vital contribution to the international space industry in the current operational areas of Solar Arrays, Launching Structures, and Instruments Systems. In these areas they belong to the world top. Currently, they are working on the Solar Array Mechanisms for the Orion MPCV MultiPurpose Crew Vehicle project. This spacecraft will be capable of carrying astronauts beyond low Earth orbit LEO, enabling manned missions to the moon, asteroids and, it is hoped, even further. The driving force that will power the Orion capsule and its crew of four or more astronauts deeper into space than ever before is the ATVderived service module MPCVESM. Tasks and Responsibilities As a Test Engineer you are responsible for qualifying solar array mechanisms. Based on the specifications you set up a test plan and test procedures and design test setups. You conduct the tests using measuring devices and analyze the results to show that the product meets the requirements. Experience and Education Completed professional education in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or comparable qualification Some years of professional experience in testing of space flight hardware Professional experience in use of measurement tools Welldeveloped communication skills, used to work in a team Sense of responsibility and an effective way of working Fluent in written and spoken English.
