RHEA is currently recruiting an EPSSG Science Support to support the scientific development activities of the future Polar System Second Generation EPSSG at our clients premises in Darmstadt, Germany. Tasks and Activities The scope of work will include Preparation of product generation specifications for the product processing facilities Prototyping of product generation functions Generation of product contents specifications Preparation of test data Preparation of initial calibrationvalidation plans Contribution to the generation of performance budgets Assessment of results from external studies Contribution to the initiation of scientific support studies System meetings and activities of instrument functional chain teams IFCT1 Participation in ground segment andor instrument reviews, progress and technical meetings. Skills and Experience The following skills and experience are mandatory University degree in remote sensing, meteorology, oceanography, physics, or equivalent At least three years of experience in the field of remote sensing in one or more of the areas listed above, including involvement in processing of satellite data up to level 1 calibrated geolocated radiances andor level 2 geophysical parameters Very good skills in a highlevel, compiled programming language, such as Fortran, CC, Java Fluency in commandline use on LinuxUnix platforms Skills in writing scientifictechnical documents Familiarity with Microsoft Office Good interpersonal skills in support of team work The following skills would be highly desirable Experience in understanding and specifying requirements Experience with the specification, development and validation of satellite data processing chains Experience with calibration and product validation methods Knowledge in radiative transfer How to Apply Looking to take your career to the next level?
