Payload Integration Manager

We are currently looking for a Payload Integration Manager to support our customer in the Netherlands. Key Tasks and Responsibilities The Payload Integration Manager is responsible for managing the integration of the assigned payload activities during the International Space Station ISS exploitation phase by performing the following tasks within the Directorate of Human Spaceflight and Operations Support the generation and negotiation of International Partner agreements e.g. ESA PIA, ESANASA PIA, JIP, JUP, etc if these agreements are required Review and analyse the Experiment Science Requirements ESR suggest changes if needed and present results to the board Support the preparation of the Research Directive RD Responsible for CEF preparation and submittal Responsible for the Manifest Request MR preparation and submittal Responsible for the generation of ESA and NASA PIAs Support the relevant payload development reviews e.g. Critical Design Review CDR, Final Acceptance Review FAR Support the analytical integration activities of payloads into Columbus Support the integration activities of payloads into IP elements Support the Flight Safety and Integrated Safety process of payloads Support the resolution of SPRs Support the Logistics service for cargo transportation and integration Support the hardware operations nomenclature OpNom request process Support the development of label plans and label requests Support the User Support and Operations Centres USOCs Responsible for generating a monthly PIM report and PIM schedule for each allocated payload Responsible for generating and submitting an integrated CoFR data package for each allocated payload, as per schedule provided in the increment CoFR letter and plan Responsible for creating and eventually closing any OW identified in the integrated CoFR data package. Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience University degree Msc or equivalent qualification in engineering or science biology, medicine, physics, chemistry discipline Demonstrated experience in aerospace or human spaceflight activities management, including development, integration and onorbit operations activities of complex payloads Results oriented, good communicator with strong stakeholder management skills A strong aptitude for relationship management as well as good communication skills Fluency in English is mandatory knowledge of another European language is an advantage. The roles will require the candidate to identify and manage product and payload developments and offer a vision of satellite payloads for the future. The succesful candidates will integrate a transnational team split in three different sites Toulouse , Portsmouth and Stevenage that interface with internal engineering teams but also with customers and suppliers. Heshe will be asked to chair customer or supplier discussions. Because of this the roles have a wide visibility and could provide interesting career opportunities. The roles have indirect responsibility. No direct reports but require a strong project management skills back ground with the ability to negotiate and influence stakeholders. Design of advanced payload architecture for telecoms satellites. Identification of future payload products e.g. RF, digital, optical. Development follow up which includes road mapping, choice of suppliers etc. Support advanced bid teams in cost and product evaluation in line with customer and business expectations. Mandatory skills Degree qualified or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline. Proven experience in advanced payload design incorporating RF and or Digital knowledge. Proven leadership experience with demonstrable evidence of influencing and negotiating at engineering, supplier and customer level. Proven project management experience across a complex transnational environment. Payload Product Assurance Manager

EADS A vacancy for a Payload Product Assurance Manager has arisen within Airbus Group in Portsmouth. The successful applicant will join the Telecommunication Payload Division team. The successful candidate will be subject to UK National Security Clearance in order to undertake related work in accordance with business needs. Your main tasks and responsibilities will include Preparing the Customisation of the PA Plan and the PA Requirements taking into account the programme specificities relative to Product Assurance, against our standards and references, and to make sure that the others TechnicalProgrammatic are effectively flown down to all levels. Ensuring that adequate work instructions and records are maintained during the design and manufacture of the Payload and associated equipment, to ensure that easy reference is available for monitoring past and present procedural or technical activities. Contributing to program reviews and Quality gates and identify, manage associated quality deliverables. Participating in risk review meetings at all stages of the Payload design, development, and assembly, installation and test, in conjunction with the Programme team ensuring that risk retirement plans are drawn up and carried through. Managing Critical Item process control and its associated Mitigation Plan during the design and manufacture of the Payload and associated equipment. Reviewing and approve all deliverable documents and their subsequent amendments, ensuring that all documents are signed by the relevant disciplines according to our standards. Controlling all quality costs directly associated with their Programme team. Contributing to the internal flight worthiness certificate and to the delivery of the certificate of compliance for the deliverable products to the customer. This role will involve frequent travel for business and as such you must be able to travel accordingly. We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience Educated to HNDHNC level or equivalent in Engineering. Experience with manufacturing quality issues from an engineering perspective preferably in space aerospace industry. Strong communication and problem solving skills with the ability to influence and negotiate engineering solutions. Previous experience in Project Programme Manager. Knowledge of Telecoms Payload products and processes is highly desirable. Strong ability to generate and write reports with an understanding of risk management.
