Sun Pharma Declines as Regulatory Issue Puts Pressure on Profit

Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd., India's largest drugmaker, fell in Mumbai trading as quarterly profit came under pressure from efforts to address regulatory issues at one of its factories. Sun Pharma fell as much as 3.5 percent to 907.30 rupees in Mumbai today before trading at 915.25 rupees at 9:34 a.m. local time, the biggest decliner on the benchmark S&P BSE Sensex Index.

Energy on Track to Post Worst Fourth-Quarter EPS Declines in S&P 500

NEW YORK -- About half the energy companies in the S&P 500 have reported fourth-quarter 2014 results, and the battered sector is on track to post the worst earnings and revenue declines in the index by a wide margin, according to Thomson Reuters . Although 77% of the energy companies that have reported already have beat fourth-quarter earnings estimates, the sector has posted a 21% decline in blended earnings so far.

American Airlines' traffic declines, Southwest Airlines sees boost in January

The Dallas-based airline today said its passenger load factor- how full planes fly - fell 1.2 percentage points to 75.1 percent as capacity rose 10.2 percent. Southwest, which has been adding flights since October, also said its unit revenue probably declined 1 percent from January 2014.

Oil Declines as U.S. Workers Strike Seen Cutting Refinery Demand

West Texas Intermediate futures dropped as much as 3.3 percent. The United Steelworkers union, which represents employees at more than 200 U.S. refineries, terminals, pipelines and chemical plants, stopped work on Sunday at nine sites after failing to agree on a labor contract.
