Bharti Airtel quarterly net profit up 30.5%

(Telecompaper) India-based Bharti Airtel reported revenue for its fiscal fourth quarter to March 2015 up 3.6 percent year-on-year to INR 230.1 billion. The company grew revenues 11.8 percent in its home market and 3.4 percent in Africa. The revenue growth in India was led by an increase of 11 percent in Mobile, 10.2 percent in Telemedia, and 17.2 percent in the Digital TV business.

UPDATE 1-Bunge profit beats estimates on strong oilseed margins

Bunge Ltd, one of the world's largest agricultural trading houses, reported a better-than-expected quarterly profit, helped by strong margins from soybean crushing and oilseed exports. The company also said oilseed processing margins improved in Brazil and Argentina in the first quarter and should remain good through September.

Oila s slump lowers H&E Equipmenta s profit

Winter weather and the oil industry's slump dropped Baton Rouge-based H&E Equipment Services Inc.'s first-quarter earnings to $6.1 million, or 17 cents per share. For the same period in 2014, the heavy-equipment supplier turned a profit of $7.4 million, or 21 cents per share.

Maple Leaf Foods reported a profit on an adjusted basis after six quarters due to lower operating costs as the Canadian meat processor worked through its plan to upgrade its plants. Maple Leaf, whose brands include Schneiders meat, is nearing the end of a multi-year program to replace old plants with modern facilities as it seeks to boost profits and better compete with U.S. rivals.
