W.W. Grainger Inc. on Thursday said its third-quarter earnings rose 9%, driven by strong performance in the U.S., but the industrial-goods supplier warned of weak performance abroad. The company lowered the top end of its full-year guidance, now calling for per-share earnings of $12.20 to $12.30, down from the $12.20 to $12.60 a share it had expected.
