Spotify customer growth tops expectations in Q2

(Telecompaper) Spotify reported second-quarter customer numbers and revenues at the high end of its guidance, finishing the period with 299 million monthly users, up 29 percent from a year earlier. The company said weakness in some markets in April and May due to the coronavirus outbreak was offset by a recovery in June, with growth particularly strong in North America and India. As a result, it expects to meet its full-year targets.

Ooredoo Group revenue falls 7% in Q2

(Telecompaper) Ooredoo Group said its revenue for the second quarter decreased by 7 percent to QAR 6.82 billion, and EBITDA dropped 6 percent to QAR 2.97 billion. Net profit however increased by 3 percent to QAR 432 million compared to QAR 421 million in 2019.
KPN maintains outlook as underlying revenue falls 3% in Q2

(Telecompaper) Dutch operator KPN reported a drop of 3.0 percent in underlying revenues in the second quarter, to EUR 1.29 billion. Including divestments, sales were down 4.9 percent. The coronavirus crisis impacted roaming revenues and the B2B segment, while personnel costs and investments also were down slightly. KPN said the customer base, both in fixed and mobile, was showing the first signs of bottoming out, after several quarters of decline.
